Not Alone Just Separated

I know things are hard out there for most everyone, especially small business owners trying to stay above water and maybe even trying to keep their employees working.  I have been so inspired to see some amazing ideas and mind-blowing creativity that you are all doing to stay strong, inspire and hopefully get through this intact.  We are in this together so I thought I would do my part to share some stories that I have collected.  If you have an idea or story that you would like to be included please contact me, I would love to hear it.

I hope that these ideas from fellow small business owners motivate you, inspire you, and gives you hope.  Keep checking back because I plan to keep adding to this post.

Flora & Folly offer the Pretties Prank Ever!

With things getting more and more serious I wanted to come up with something to brighten people’s day and literally, brighten their front doors!  I started by promoting it as an April Fools Day joke; calling it “the prettiest prank you’ll ever receive!”  Introducing.... the Flower Bomb!  I came up with different levels of the number of petals by naming them after different participants of a wedding 🤣 I went to the person’s house, left a note on the door saying “you’ve been flower bombed!  thank your friend ____ for this explosion of cheer and enjoy entering and exiting your front door like the queen you are”  And the best part of it all is that it’s socially distant compliant AND environmentally friendly.  Cleanup is optional as all the petals will biodegrade naturally!   And well, to my surprise and delight this little thing has caught on!  I’m now not just pulling “pranks” I’m also helping people celebrate birthdays and newborn babies!  I just got this amazing picture from someone I did a flower bomb for today!!

Hi, I’m Darleen Cole Owner & Massage Therapist here at Essence Of Movement. Like everyone else I am working to find our “new normal”.  When the stay at home order was put into place for our area, We launched an online Yoga studio, in 4 days, offering 20 plus classes a week. We also put together a private Facebook group for our members and regular clients to keep in touch with us as a business, and with the community, they are used to seeing every day when they come in. I really see our clients having some fun posting and commenting with each other within the group. It really brings a smile to my face and I know for sure we are all in this together.

Our classes are being held via Zoom and they are live classes. Imperfections and all. They are not pre-recorded and the students can interact with each other as well as the instructor. This has had such a positive effect on our community. I receive emails and texts each day thanking us for staying open and helping to keep everyone sane with some much-needed yoga and friends. Some people have also found the online classes are a place they can try something new that they may have otherwise been intimated to do walking into a studio. We may even keep some online options available when the stay at home order is lifted.

I believe now more than ever people need to keep moving their bodies as well as a place to ground down mentally and either disconnect or recharge. Binge-watching Netflix will definitely take its toll on us physically and we plan to be there for them now and the future.

We do plan to have some virtual happy hours soon and plan to launch a Yoga Bingo challenge in the upcoming weeks.

We can’t wait to get back into the studio, however, we are fully embracing this time for what it is and what we can do together.

We have a 2-week unlimited classes offer right now for $49.00.

We started to make some inspirational and in some cases, humorous T-shirts and hoodies during the Shelter in Place.  It has helped us stay focused and positive while there are illnesses, chaos, and anxiety all around.  I read a blog by Ramina Wilkerson about being carriers of hope instead of fear and we are on board.  Our business may have come to a halt, but we will still be here when the virus has passed.

I hope everyone stays healthy and strong~

My life has changed DRAMATICALLY since starting with Younique back in 2018. I discovered I could supplement our family income by doing something I LOVED and by sharing my love of Younique with others.

What I have discovered is that Younique is about MUCH MORE than just make-up and skin care. I have found my confidence, a passion I never knew existed and a Y-Family I can ALWAYS count on. I LOVE sharing the products, opportunity and my passion with other women around the world. What best is that I can work ANYWHERE - so during this trying time I can still work and reach out to those virtually.

I want to UPLIFT, EMPOWER and VALIDATE every woman and help them find their confidence in their own UNIQUENESS!

To order or view my products check out my LinkTree where you can find links to everything including my web page - Thanks again!
